The Ordovician successions of the Oslo Region, Norway
A 1 m thick red brown weathering dolomite contrasting strongly with the light coloured Huk Formation below is present in parts of Oslo at the base of the Elnes Formation. Skaar (1972 p.A142) recognised a local intraformational conglomerate near the base of the limestone consisting of 1 5cm blocks of the underlying grey limestone set in a dolomitic matrix.

Missouri Limestone. Fossiliferous Limestone. Calcite Limestone. Commodity: Limestone, a sedimentary rock that is dominantly composed of the calcium-bearing carbonate minerals calcite and dolomite. Calcite is chemically calcium carbonate (formula CaCO3). Dolomite is chemically calcium-magnesium carbonate (formula CaMg (CO3)2).

Limestone-Dolomite Transition in the Ordovician Platteville …
ABSTRACT A transition between limestone and dolomite in the MacGregor Member of the Platteville Formation ranges up to a mile in width and is marked by irregular and patchy dolomitization. Locally the dolomitized patches roughly parallel the dominant joint set. There is some evidence of permeability control of dolomitization. Small quantities of epigenetic pyrite appear to have been introduced ...
